Thanks, John - that should help. Although chipmunks are pretty small. I keep aiming for squirrels - but haven't managed to nail one lately... I think we need something bigger...

I ran over a chipmunk a couple weeks ago, does that count?
Hey Jim, the start of HM is 10 days from now. ANYTHING can happen (weather-wise) between now and then.
Keep the good weather thoughts!! |

That's better than my link...
NOAA shows maybe a bit of rain Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - less than half an inch, I think.

Looking good according to Steve.
I am splitting my ride down into 1/3 and 2/3. I'll be stopping in Milford Pa on Tuesday night then early start to get to HM central by 4-5 pm on Wednesday.
My crazy office schedule means that I need to be back for Monday morning, so I am leaving Marion mid-morning on Saturday to reverse my route- 2/3 Saturday then 1/3 on Sunday. This is all dictated by NOT riding in the dark in the north country- too many moose and deer.
See you all in 9 days!! _________________ John & Cathy

A week from now there will be a fire in the fire ring, and Jim will be bitching about all of the trailers. Kiss my ass Jim!
Apple weather says it will be cloudy and 75 degrees. We'll see. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

Hahaha! I don't care about trailers... I used mine to bring the RT back from Richmond today. But I'm not trailering the bike to HMSP - I'm riding it.
One has to admit - there were a lot of trailers there last year... I see there won't be nearly as many this year.
The weather will be what it will be - HMSP weather... I sure hope we get some good weather.

Showers Tuesday through Friday night in Marion.
SNOW in New England on Tuesday.
Lovely. _________________ John & Cathy

I'll go out and jog a few miles. That will cause the earth to rotate just a bit faster, and move Marion out from under the storm.
Chance of showers - typical Marion weather... I can't think it will rain all day every day... _________________ Jim

Hi HM'ers...
Well after a year of waiting,, it's finally time to head for Marion! But not having sacrificed any creatures large or small,, the God's of Gas and Rubber are not happy with me.! My family along with "school vacation week in NH" has conspired once again to rob me of one and maybe two days at HM, plus my bike did not pass annual inspection due to excessive, tire wear, leaving me bikeless once again.! At this point, I've about thrown the effing towel in... and may not make it at all now... IF I DO GET THERE late it'll be in a "g-d" truck certainly not the ride I've been looking forward to for the last 12 months.! Despite that,, I hope all of you will have a great ride, great weather, and great commradery.......
Ride safe all...... / Ernie in NH (keeping fingers crossed for 1 or 2 days maybe) incentiveincentive _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Took the K100RS out for a short ride today.
Not good. Seeing some liquid out of the water/oil pump weep hole.
Let's see. No K bike and snow is predicted for Tuesday when I want to leave.
Sheeeeet.
We'll see. _________________ John & Cathy

John - just put your bike and Ernie's on a trailer and bring them - they'll be good enough to ride around down there... Oh - I forgot - Ernie has other issues than tires...
That seal can weep for a long time...
Finally got to ride the RT a bit - not much - 125 miles. Need to get headlight and horn relays, add some riding lights - and beef up some of the wiring a bit. _________________ Jim

It isn't just a drop or two. The entire oil pan is wet to the point of dripping and there is a puddle in the belly pan (I had just cleaned it before a half hour ride)
So considering the weather forecast looks like a non-K on a trailer.
But I'll be there! and not before 4 _________________ John & Cathy

Do what ya gotta do to get there safely. But get there.
That weep can go on for a long long time, but wetting the pan down on a 30 minute ride sounds a bit much.
Pretty sure my new to me bike is sorted out now and boy oh boy have I got a story to share about that.
See you all soon. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

John, we could always rebuild/reseal your water pump during a "rain day". Looking at the weather forecast we could reseal EVERYONES. Just move the table out of the way and bring in 4 bikes at a time...
I have your fuel injectors, a set of gages, set of used plug wires, and some misc bits to bring to swap/trade. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

Thanks everyone for the encouragement .
The leaking mess is staying in my garage for a few weeks which means (unfortunately) that I will be trailering again. The Daytona is NOT a 14 hour highway bike.
But I will see you all tomorrow afternoon, maybe around 5pm _________________ John & Cathy

Just a thought, being the new guy and all.
Jim goes out on a leg and extends funds to reserve the lodge. I've seen threads where people say he shouldn't, but he does, so...
Instead of leaving him hanging, what If those of who intend to be there for HM10 or HMX your choice, wrote Jim a check this week for next years gathering?
I'm not asking you to Luffa his back in the shower, just write a check. There will be a X gathering won't there?
Maybe all of you Northerners will finally have your bikes together in a year too. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

I have no problem with $$ to Jim now for next year.
But maybe back to a mid-May date too? This is the view outside my office right now.

It's sunny and 80 here in SC today, I mowed the grass Sunday, and got a little sunburned Sunday riding the bike. John, maybe you should move...

I've been in the south during the July/August. No thanks
It was sunny and 70+ here last week. Got a few rides in too.
