Hi Group, Like the forum, good indicator this bike could be a keeper. During my recent trip to Colorado with a high school buddy, I decided to buy his little used K11. I have been riding 650 VStroms the last 7 years.

This K11 is pretty nice, 45K miles, have some records over the last 10 years, fork seals not leaking, no oil leaking on the bottom, ABS working, everything seems to work. Newer michelins on it, have all the liners for the luggage, plus a nice tank bag. I did a fly and drive - 600 miles in 2 days. Shifts nice up and down. Very quick compared to my Strom! Has some vibes at different RPM's, 4th and 5th are very smooth at 4-5K. With the windshield adj, I have never experienced this level of quiet. Of course it is hotter - I expect that is partially because so much wind is blocked.

Nice bike. Need to adjust the clutch (it's high), and the rear brake pedal has too much travel. And the rear shock seems kind of unsettled...It has a Corbin seat that does not let me move around too much. I'll have to make it my own!

Welcome to the group!

My rear brake had a lot of travel, which turned out to be a bad seal in the rear master cylinder. A rebuild kit and flush with new brake fluid fixed that.

90's technology they ran the bikes hot to pass emissions. I installed a 170 degree thermostat and it helped greatly here in the south last summer. My temp is left of center just above the gage mark at cruise.

Can't help you with the clutch but the tech section and search are your new friends. Clymer makes a K bike manual, The parts diagrams at Max BMW is a great resource for how things fit and part numbers. Duck here has a good selection of parts if you need something.

Where you at "Upstate"? I'm in Aiken.

Also, Hungry Mother X is coming up next April/May, you want to go. Read under the meetings tab. It's in Marion VA, about 3 or 4 hours for you. Lot of great riding, good people, good food. Some people do snore though...

I'm in the Greenville area - Thanks for the heads up on HMX. I have been through the Bristol area several times and agree it is very nice.

Pretty close then. I have clients in the Greenville area, come up there several times a year to visit, plus trips to Spartanburg to the Beacon. I'll let you know next time I'm up that way.

In the meantime if you need tools or whatever feel free to ride down. I have a GS-911 tool that will read your ECU and ABS codes and reset them.
