Sponsors, sponsors. This modern stuff isn’t cheap by any means.

30+ years ago I did 2 years of amateur roadracing. Took me another 3 years to pay it off. That was back when equipment was crap but not too expensive.

Today’s costs for high level parts and support? Sky high.
