Hey all,
I've just completed my first fiberglass fairing repair. Is there a rattle can brand/color that matches Mystic Red as closely as possible? I've heard you can get custom spray cans made. Has anyone done this? Thanks. - Blake _________________ Blake

Yes. Find somebody who uses the PPG (Pittsburg Paints) paint matching computer.
Do it locally and take them a side cover to match. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I am restoring the fairing off a BMW R1100RS and had to match in the current paint colour which after 27 years has faded and I didn't want the fairing to have 'the original colour as it was and the tank to be miss-matched.
We have the same or similar computerised paint matching technology here and they made a superb job of getting it absolutely accurate. We have a paint shop nearby who will mix either enough for a rattle can or for a power spray gun.
Don't forget if you spray over 'raw' or new fibreglass you should used a plastic primer that will act like an etch primer and resist the paint lifting later. _________________ 1997 K1100LT
