Hi, All,
I haven't heard any offers!
Seriously, my next stop is Schenectady, NY, then Raleigh, NC, then Macon, GA, then Dallas, TX, and then home to El Paso, TX. I plan to be home on 14 October. _________________ Ride Safe,

I was feeling that, too. There's something epic about climbing mountain passes and looking down at clouds. Conditions were marginal even on LTs but Dave was in trouble and turning back was the right decision.
I had mixed feelings about abandoning the party but family loyalty won out. My wife is riding a dressage test (thats a horse competition) today and will appreciate my support.

Cathy and I have been up for a couple of hours (it's now 8:30). The rest of the crew is, well, resting.
Jim- thanks for coming- had a great time. Wish we could have ridden in nicer weather (at least we had Friday) and done a bunch of bike swapping.
But the 250R and the Monster are always here for you to wring out.
Looking forward to Tamarack syrup with pancakes this morning then I'll ride south for a while with the departing HL crew. Pictures to follow......
Hey, good luck to Sue today. _________________ John & Cathy

NOW I can get some stuff posted here. Scott is probably still out on the road (Pa? Ohio?) and away from the keyboard. Hopefully Phil is in Troy, NY and OTG is back on "Long Gyland".
Starting out today from HL headquarters
E.T. (OTG), "phone home"
Middle of nowhere, New Hampshire to Iowa- can I get there from here???
Ready to roll (Jim, we missed you)
So I slabbed it south with Phil, Scott and OTG for about an hour and a half after riding Dave's anti-K11 for a few miles. (I WANT that engine).
Who's looking at the road????
Looks like Scott is on a mission
Then I had a good (but lonely), sunny backroad ride home north to mooseland.
HL was a great time. Had KRAP weather yesterday (and rode in it anyhow) but Friday and today were MUCH, MUCH better than the forecast predicted.
The food, the roads and the bikes- EXCELLENT. The K11OG folks were even better.
Thanks guys and a special thank you to Cathy. _________________ John & Cathy

Sounds like you guys had fun. The best thing about these "meet and greets" is you get to see what the person is really like. Which reminds me, Duck, I seem to remember that you were going kick my ass in crib. Next time we hook up, game on. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I think the thing all of us will remember most from this weekend is the incomparable hospitality of Kathy and John. If you're ever in New Hampshire, stop to see me but whatever you do don't miss Sugar Hill. _________________ Jim

+2 here.
Rolled in about 8:30 last night, didn't even unpack the bike till this morning. Last leg was 750 miles in 12 hrs saddle time. Did much better around Cleveland and Chicago this time by. Little road const but not bad, nothing that brought me to a stand still.
Will post pics later after I get more organized.
John, hope you can make HM in the spring. _________________ Ride safe.

Sorry about that. "HM" is Hungry Mother.
A Virginia state park in western Virginia, near Marion. Have met in the spring near the beginning of May. _________________ Ride safe.

Scott,
Good to hear you are home & the trip was better in the west direction. Where did you end up Sunday night?
After my first K11 gathering I will make HM a priority next spring. (looks like I need to get cruise control by then)
Maybe we can get OTG there?? Maybe Saltcreek?

Ended at Youngstown, Ohio for the night. I wanted to make at least 1/2 way or more. Like New York I wanted to avoid Cleveland on a Monday a.m. _________________ Ride safe.

I was just going through my pictures of the HL weekend and realized that I don't have a picture with all 5 bikes in it.
Does anyone else have one?
Hey Jim, we never heard about how Sue did last weekend. Anything you want to post? _________________ John & Cathy

She's riding a 17 hand, six year old thoroughbred so the day is considered a success if everyone behaves himself. She rode a fairly low level dressage test and placed second out of six. It's really all about training at this point. _________________ Jim

NO Imitations here.
We had the real thing......
Along with the REAL Phil Marvin, the REAL Scott Anderson, the REAL Saltcreek and the GEN-U-INE OTG.
No substitutes here. And yesterday, just 3 weeks after HL we have the REAL thing on the roads also......This is the same road that we were on in the rain on HL Saturday:

bikingHi John, just had a look at the postings on your Hungry Lobsta ride which looked just great shame the weather couldn't have been a bit nicer but hey thats what biking all about taking the good with the bad, I also had a look at the pics you posted of the NH curves I have to say it looks just stunning and can't wait to get myself and the K over there.
I'm starting to get my A into G for next May and have talked to the travel and shipping agents also sorted out the bike insurance but will really get things moving after Xmas.
Cheers for now,
