I was really jealous of everyone with their nice orange catz lights. As I had motolights I didn't think I could justify buying another set. I also didn't want to pay $30 for motolights amber lamps. I did some research and picked up 50W MR16 dichroic amber lamps for $5 each and put them in the motolight housing. The amber color is great and I think I can see better than th 50W whites I had. I really need someone to drive my bike while I ride in a car to see how noticeable they are. _________________ 93 K1100RS

I really can't say enough good things about the orange CATZ lights. On my recently purchased K75 I initially started out with the white driving lights since I wanted something for good night lighting. Out riding it was the usual with cagers half noticing me.
Then I swapped in a set of the orange bulbs. Being a bright and very different orange they tend to catch people's attention even if they're only caught in someone's peripheral vision. It seems as if the bright and very odd orange draws people's attention and forces them to notice you.
The orange ones will stay in and always on but I'll swap in the white driving lights if I'm going to be riding rural at night. Best of both worlds with one pair of light housings.
Amazingly good chit. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

My 96 alt. is marked 14v 27-50 A on data plate. I assume that means 27 amp would be available at idle speed or very soon there after - max output 50 amp. _________________ Dave Norris KOG 248

The 96 has a 50A alternator. You'll be fine. I upgraded my 93 LT to a 50A and run a 90W low beam, CATZ XLOs, heated grips, a heated jacket liner and heated insoles in the winter and all is well. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
