Got to go for a longer ride today with my new Road Pilot 2 on the front scrubbed in and the new RAM shock properly dialed in.
Awesome! It's like a new bike. I went out and hit the twistiest roads I could find out in the country and it was nirvana. The bike tracks like it's on rails and has much more control and composure than before. I found myself going through a corner and over steering it, only to come out and say, I should have been going faster. After about 75 miles I had it dialed in and was just cranking through the corners.
I also noticed a big difference when I'd hit a rough patch mid-corner, the bike just soaked it up and held the same line. Also if I went into a corner a bit hot and had to grab some serious front brake (which are also much tighter since the M/C rebuild), there wasn't nearly as much front end dive and it was very controlled. The amount of improvement is just awesome.
It's put the "sport" back in my sport tourer! I can't wait to hit the mountain twisties at Hungry Mother next month! _________________ Steve

The ONLY problem I've found so far Steve, is that I'm now travelling much faster than I think!
It's a reflex thing. not a conscious effort. When I'm travelling on familiar roads I find the "confidence" level is upped several clicks. I'm talking twisty country roads here and especially long sweeping bends, not Highways, which I rarely ride anyway.
With so many "speed cameras" around in the UK now that means constant checking of the speedo otherwise loss of licence for 12 months or so!
The weather here in the UK has taken a change for the better, we have 20 degrees plus and blue skies today and all over the weekend.
