Looks like it might do the job.

But......

I have a hard time re: form over function vs. function over form.

I'd have to see it in person.

Hmmm...interesting. Even with my Aeroflow,(thanks again John!), the wind still smacks right into my helmet and creates a lot of noise and buffeting. This device could attach to all of my deflection devices, my Aeroflow and the stock screen and the Laminar Lip. Possibly providing me with the, as of yet elusive, "quiet helmet" environment that I seek.

How many $$ for this farkle?

Steve,

Even with the tall Aeroflow- wind still hits you? It didn't hit me.

You must have a tall torso. I have REALLY tall legs. That must be the difference.

$119

I called them today to see if it would work on the curved upper lip of an RS. They weren't sure although it would definitely work on the "flat" LT screen.

I'm going to be riding my LT through Watsonville the week after next so plan to stop by and see it in person.

Even with the tall. I'm glad I didn't get a regular height. The wind hits me right about at eye level. I see about 3-4 inches above the screen, I must long bodied, no wonder my shirts never stay tucked in! Laughing

I also have handelbar risers that sit me up another inch or so and I sit on an Airhawk seat cushion, which probably adds another inch or so.

Oddly enough, if I raise my visor up, it creats a secondary air foil that nicely raises the air up and over my helmet and is much quieter than riding with the visor down.

The Areoflow does a great job of taking the air of my torso, and I could probably light a cigarette behind it (if I smoked), but up at visor level, it's a hurricane.

Wow, $119, might have to chew on that a bit....after spending $85 on the laminar lip that doesn't do squat.

After looking more closely at the top of the RS screen, there is a thicker lip at the edge than in the middle, sort of a comma shape profile, I wonder if their clamp would extend down below this "lip" to the flat part of the screen.

After my disappointment in the laminar lip, I'm a bit skeptical that this attachment would be large enough to make much of a difference on the stock RS screen, it's just so far down there, I don't think it would be large enough to deflect that much air high enough to make a difference.

But, it might just do the trick on top of the Areoflow.

Is the Aeroflow thick enough to handle the stress/torque at the edge?

I'll wait for the Drake Report. Not sure I want that metal thing right in front of me... Although it would be nice to get rid of the buffeting.

Scott,

That was my second thought. There were times (in a strong headwind) that I sort of wondered about the Aeroflow alone.

Then I also had concerns about parking the bike on a windy day with the Aeroflow mounted. I had read about others finding their Aeroflows lying on the ground after parking and having a tailwind overcome the fasteners. This add-on would only increase the parked "sail area".

Hope this doesn't rain on anyone's parade.

John

John - it looks like it would flip down and out of the way...

I would also be concerned about it's stability on top of the Areoflow. It already bounces around a bit at full highway speed. Might be too much.

As far as flipping it down when parked, you'd have to get out a tool to do that, that wouldn't be be very practical, and you'd have to adjust it again.

Nice device. There's a similar product on the market. I forgot who makes it, but I recall it's less expensive.

I wondered about this stuff from Saeng for the Areoflow;

Seems a little too subtle to work, but might be worth a try. (Sorry for the hijack)

I have looked at their products for many years. Not cheap, but they appear to be proven.

My 93 RS came with that stuff on my Aero flow. Don't waste your money.
I took it off cause it was so homely. Did not notice ANY differance in air flow

I had one of those from Saeng on my R75/6. My father had cut the windshield down when he bought it because he was so short. I am a good 3-4 inches taller than Dad so when he passed away and I got it I was having some real issues with buffeting. It worked well, but the windshield developed a crack down low and I replaced it with a taller one. I will look around to see if I have any pics of the bike with it on.

Duck, I like that, gives me an alternative for my ST with the MRA Vario add on flip up screen device I've been thinking of buying:

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/1980/

Price is close and the design of both appears to be quality stuff....the Wunderlich isn't as wide though....not sure if that would be an issue or not on my ST or a K11. For the others here the Vario might be an option for their more cured screens.
