Last 2 times I've started the brick it's been very reluctant. I've had to use the choke. I haven't used the choke ever before, why now? It's all serviced, clean filters etc and it's been on warm day (well you guys might say hot days).
So what could have changed? I haven't touched anything on it for about 5,000klms.
Could it be jealous of the shiny Laverda that has turned up in the garage? _________________ K1100RS '97

I never start mine cold without the choke (which technically isn't really a choke but an idle enhancer?) _________________ Jim

I always have to use the "choke" when starting, regardless of temp. If not, she'll kind of chug-a-chug-a, but not run right. Until warmed.
Maybe your idle is (was) set high, thus negating the need to use the throttle advancement?
And of course, a new steed in the stable always causes issues....not that I'd know about that. _________________ Steve

Not for me. But mine are all brother K bikes so they play well together. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

The krauts and ities never did get on well!
I'll see how it goes over the next few months. It may just have started to do the right thing as suggested above!! _________________ K1100RS '97

But seriously Drikko FD is usually right
With all the uber wet weather and flooding, condensation will have got in inevitably mate.
Maybe a litre of metho will dry out the bottom of the tank, but otherwise a new fuel filter will never hurt and is relatively cheap n easy.
Your vulnerable K bike electrics will also have copped a corrosive blast of yukky flood condensation and whatnot and may need a lickover hey.
All the very best Drikko
