The radio stopped receiving the AM signal. All it does is make ticking clock noise and amplifies the ABS indicator flashers. I had the opportunity of trying another radio and it does the same thing. Is it a short, a relay or ground wire that is causing the problem or something else? Thanks for any suggestions I might receive.

Can only be the Aerial & associated wiring. You don't say if FM is Ok. This would help diagnosis.
Welcome BTW. _________________ Regards Tim,

Thanks for your time and reply.
The FM channel works fine.
Since my first post I may have discovered the villan. The antenna connection appears to be lose and when moved you can hear the interference in the radio. I'm removing in inter-upper fairing this morning to see what needs to be done.
I will let you know what I find. |

FYI I removed the factory radio from my 93 LT. I just didn't use it, and wanted more storage space. It worked fine when removed about a month ago. If anyone wants it for $85.00 shipped to your door (U.S. lower 48 only) let me know. I can take pay-pal, or a US Postal money order. Please e-mail me at snapgadget@ftc-i.net . You might want to make a post listing in the FS section. _________________ Ride safe.
