|
|
The K11 in WA had a professionally installed CB-based comms system, integrating the radio and a cellphone.
I normally use, with my friends, a FRS system and have a Motocom set of cords, connectors and switches that I can carry in my riding gear.
The CB's antenna was mounted on the custom rear rack designed for the auxiliary tank--Drake now has the tank, the rear rack and the CB mount. the cabling from the CB to the antenna is still in place, I think.
Question: can I simply get an an anternna mount from the local truck stop, one that is normally clamped to a big rig's mirror mounts and clamp it on the stock rear mount, or do I need to worry about other grounding issues?
This is not vital; I just thought a CB might be a redunant system if needed.
Thanks.

Still interested in CB communications? I have mounted large antennas on 2 bikes. mainly for amatuer radio equipment.
Can be done. Noise from engine is nil. SSB that was.
Did do some vibration problems on the radio that i had.

Hi there!
Don't go PM's, I am all interested about that subject!
I am working on CB system for my bike.
I am going to use hanndheld Intec H520+ with stock antenna. The main issue is the microphone that won't transmit noise. For now I have differential dynamic mics, yet most modern CBs use capacitive microphones.
