$55 + postage in OZ. I might try and get it out and clean it up as I can't see the oil level any more!!

I see you can pop it out up through the oil filter hole, trouble is have just changed the filter and oil....bugger.

Are they cheaper over there? Anywhere???

Somewhere I read a suggestion to drill a little hole in it, screw in a self tapper and pull it out using the screw. Obvious warnings about swarf going back into lubricant etc.

As for price, may the force be with you Cool

It's half that price posted from Motoworks in UK! I'll check with BMshop in the morning.

They have recently changed that part, used to be make from polycarbonate or other kind of transparent plastic, and it always ended up opaque. Now it is made from glass which is obviously more durable, but breaks more easily when you set it in place.

Haven't done it myself but have heard that the old one can be removed by drilling a hole in it and using a corkscrew to extract it.

The old ones don't clean, as the plastic yellows. Usually easy to change as previously posted, even with oil in, do it on the side stand.

Hi, All,
Max BMW's ETK lists the new oil sight glass at (if I remember correctly) $31.02. I still have one of the old ones I bought maybe 10 years ago for less than $10. I'll use it, if necessary, before buying the new style sight glass.

The old one is fine and easier to install (less risk to break it), it will just end up opaque but it could be in 20 years from now (depending on how much you ride the bike).

Hi,
My K75's are, respectively, 16 and 17 years old and have the original sight glasses in them. I changed one in my first K1100LT when it turned opaque, but the rest have been fine. When I changed the one in the K1100LT, I bought two so I would have one when (if?) needed in my parts stash.
