After about 7 years of ownership, I think I have finally dialed in my suspension set up.

The key was changing the fork oil over to 15 wt. (manual says 5 wt.)

To back up a bit, I replaced the rear shock about two years ago with a RAM shock. That was a big improvement, but it made the front end feel soft and not very stable. Last year I changed the fork oil to 10 wt. and that made some improvement, but still not quite right.

So, this weekend I changed the fork oil over to some Agip 15 wt. and decreased the preload on the Ram and increased the clicker (rebound?) about two clicks. Wow, what a difference, the front end feels much firmer, but not harsh. I noitced an immediate difference just rocking it off the center stand, it didn't dive down as much.

Out on the road it felt great, nice and firm, but not too harsh. In the conrers it felt much more stable and sure footed, I think "planted" is the correct term.

I realize that I probably need new, firmer springs in the forks, but funds are tight and this was an inexpensive fix, about $7.50 for the fork oil. So if your front end is feeling a bit tired and worn, I highly reccomend this as a "poor man's" new springs.
