Winter has set in and I'm comitted to fixing this annoying issue over the winter.
OK, 94 K 1100 only 20K -had it for many years - rode my old R 65 more-
Anyway, the thing pulls either left or right- I can't recall. I always have to apply a little "english" in order to make this thing go perfectly straight. Anyone experience this? I have read that the front and rear tires aren't exactly in line, but this thing definitely pulls- without any brakes or braking applied? Is this a frame or fork issue? To my knowledge, it has never been down. What can I check or fix. I really want to get this fixed.

In billiards, it's a spin applied with the cue calculated to control the cue ball after striking a ball or rail. It's also used to describe a lean or correction in physical efforts. You guys probably call it "american". _________________ Jim

I know what you meant by 'English'. You might check your tires to see if they're worn on one side or the other due to road crown. MY KRS has a tendency to pull in corners because of this condition. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

This idea may be a little bit more involved to check, but bad swing arm pivot bearings could cause the bike to pull to one side or the other, as well as more intense tire wear.
I would find it very hard to believe that they would be bad with only 20k on them, but moisture can do nasty shit over time. _________________ Ride safe.

Here is a great write-up on pulling to the right (PTTR). I found it when I had my RT's, both of which did it to a considerable degree. You learn to live with it, load heavy in the left-side bag and some may want to go so far as to remove the shim from the rear wheel. It never really bothered me unless I was riding with the throttle-lock on and no hands - I would then have to apply considerable "body english", ie. hanging slightly off to the left, in order to track straight. Or push forward slightly on the left bar. By the way, it also explains why the front tires tend to wear out on the left side more than would be expected. I suggest reading the section written by Paul Glaves.

I had good success with removing the spacer from rear wheel where it mounts to hub- almost cured. this year I want to fix perfectly so I think an additional 2 mm will do it. However, after reading all the issues- potential trouble with placing a 2mm spacer between the swing arm pivot- esentially moving wheel to the right -
Why couldnt I simply machine 2mm from the rear wheel hub? I can't imagine it would affect anything structurally and my neighbor is a machinist with all the million dollar computer controlled lathes/mills etc.
What do you think? good or bad idea?
