I'm having some electrical problems, does anyone know if the BMW dealership in Asheville , NC is still there. I need to try and get there tomorrow if I can !! Starter button is quitting on me, now I have lost my headlight... _________________ Steven B

Steven,
Sorry to hear you're having problems.
Sounds like the classic "starter motor brushes mucked up". Definitely not a road side repair, at least for me. Shogs could probably do it though _________________ '02 - GL1800

Less cooperative headlight and starter, sounds like a starter brush/commutator issue to me (then you also would have problems with your horn and flashers).

Steve, the Dragon is about 150 mi. from me and we have a BMW dealership in Greenville, SC (about 40 miles east of me). Let me know if you get stranded and I'll find a trailer somewhere and I'll haul you to Asheville or Greenville.

Steve,I'm Keith, maybe just simple as a load Shead relay?
I had strange ele. Probes.I could go someplace, turn off bike and my headlight would stay on! Done that a few times then riding home fm work
And my garmin went out. I put on turn sig to go to rite lane and the indicator didn't work(guess the turn sig didn't work either? The bike is still running fine, just no lights, drivin home. It's still light out.
I get home, chk things out and find the relay socket had fried! The two large
Red wires going to it had the insulation burnt off, socket melted some.!
I guess the relay stuck. _________________ 1995 k1100lt daily ride(22953)when I got it

David Thanks, I'll try and get it started this morning, if I need too, I'll give you a call. I was able to get it going yesterday a couple of times by pushing it and letting out the clutch - then putting it in neutral again and it fired right up...
Let's hope I don't need to call you, but THANKS....if I don't call that means we made it to Asheville
