Not bike sorry but some here might like some of the cars. The Leyburn Sprints have been going for a decade now in celebration of the first Formula 1 here after the war. These days it's a time trial around the streets and a lot of fun to watch. As a fan of old cars a bunch of us go up every year to get on the turps for the Saturday night and enjoy the cars crashing around the course. The bar near the finish line has a clear view of 4 of the 8 corners so is a great place to prop oneself up for Saturday arvo. Freaking cold though it got down to -2C overnight! Anyway enough words, some pics.

First stop Rudd's Pub for fuel and beer. Renamed after Steele Rudd (famous OZ author, wrote "On Our Selection" IIRC) who lived here in Nobby for a while. http://www.ruddspub.com.au/

Would like to spend a Saturday night there:-

Time to set up camp. I've now managed to get all my camping gear small enough to fit into the bag with the exception of the chair and the cooler bag. Have a new smaller chair on it's way. Nothing I can do about the cooler bag, beer just takes up space....

Dick Johnsons old GTHO, these days it has been upped to 900HP, it really sounds awesome! Leaves 2 thick black lines whenever it opens up.

Off to the pig races at the RSL and a few beers:-

Sore heads in the morning saw us touring around the racers. Not sure what these are all are but they looked cool. :-

The track record holder:-

They're both red so they must be fast:-

I'm sure it's mother loves it:-

Had a chat to this guy, this audi has a 600cc 2 stroke engine in it and actually went quite well! He has a road going version of it, showed me a photo of it fully restored. In the background of the photo was a few of his sons old Ferraris and 3 planes ie real ones from the 50's, fully restored and airworthy which is his other hobby. I don't think he was short of a buck!!

Rotary RX7 looking very race like:-

Hang on that's no rotary, it's got a 6+litre V8 in it!! :-

A brace of old MGs in someones yard, pity I couldn't get any closer.

The Stig put in an appearance:-

Yes it's the DART! :-

What's that Skip? The lights are pretty? Or why I don't like riding around here at night...:-

Oh yeah and before I hear the "but what has this got to do with Beemers" moan, the other guys there are all in the BM club but had families and caravans and shit, so I was the only one there really representing the BM Club but not actually on the beemer hahaha. It's got a flat battery anyway so I couldn't get it going although I had intended to take it. New battery on it's way Smile
