Yep my seat latch was broken & wouldn’t latch. I could look down into the latch and there was no hook to latch on to the post (with a hole in it) attached to the bottom of the seat. The key worked the helmet latch, just no hook for the seat latch. 2 screws and 2 nuts removes the latch assy but I had to unlatch the very large cable from the top electric box, so I could move the cable over to pull up and out the complete lock assy. I was surprised to see that the latch assy cover was easily removed by prying it off with a couple of small screwdrivers. The broken hook was inside and the seat latch and the helmet latch is removed by prying them out of their pivot holder. The seat latch is cast zinc and is a small hollow “U” beam with a hook on the end. I ground down a sheet metal screw to fit inside the complete length of the hollow arm and used J-B Weld to epoxy it in there. To give it more strength I epoxied a small piece of sheet metal angle iron to the back side. This piece was about ¾” long16 gauge with 1/8” sides and went all the way down to the hook. I had to grind down the end over the hook so the hook would move completely back (against the cover) when the release was pushed. The hook had a score in the back side (where the seat post comes down & pushes the hook back). This was probably what broke the hook so I polished this back side with 400 and also rounded off the leading edges of the seat post (which had sharp leading edges on it). When the release button is pressed, the hook has to move completely back to insure it will release.
