Can an anyone provide assistance with removing the 2 screws which hold the rear brake disc to the hub on a 1996 K1100RS?
Are these screws applied with red thread locker?
I have turned about 35 lbs to reverse them after using a heat gun but neither is moving and the heads are about to round off.
Seems I may need to drill the head off to gain access to the removing bolt.

These screws is secured with Loctite, so heat is needed (maybe a bit more than you allready have used).
A hammer and a impact driver could also be a good idea.

I agree. The bolts need to get really HOT to melt locktite. The surrounding metal acts like a heatsink to draw heat away. _________________ John & Cathy

Use a blowtorch for a fair amount of time, then a strong wrench, it will come. If you round them, just drill them and buy new ones. _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

| Mine stripped as well, so I hammered a torx bit into the stripped hole and used heat also. |

Don't get them too hot though. My old metal work teacher reckoned, for Aluminium smear bar soap on, STOP heating when it burns dark brown. This is because ally has an oxidised skin which melts at a higher temperature & it is impossible to see the surface melting, like one can with steel.
good luck however you decide. _________________ Regards Tim,
