Hi everybody!
It's been a while since I posted, but I'm not gone ...
... so after yesterdays' ride to the center region of our country, a fellow XL 1000 Varadero biker noticed my K exhaust "smoking" oil at high speeds. He asked me about it and I said, "yes, my K does consume a little bit of oil. The exhaust canister is the visible part of it, but that's how K's were in the '90's". Right?
But he said: "try adding Slick 50 next time you change the oil and the oil filter. It'll help solve the problem".
Now: has anyone used this additive for high mileage bikes? If so, does it actually reduce oil consumption in our bikes?
Thanks in advance! _________________ Carlos

No. Not Slick 50.
Check out Gwen's thread about oil consumption and compression, though. There might be something there for you. _________________ Jim

Wow! Interesting findings, to say the least. Thanks for that.

Thanks. I'll do just that.
By the way, is your K's oil consumption something of a worry to you? Does the exhaust can final section get darker after a few hundred miles? Anyway, I guess this is not new for any of us.
Cheers. _________________ Carlos
