quick question- there's a discrepancy between Clymers and the on-line BMW manual for the left pivot pin on the FD. Clymers states tighten left hand pivot pin to 105 Nm using Loctite 242 and the on-line repair manual calls for 150Nm using Loctite 2701. Which is correct? At least they agree on 105 Nm for the right pivot pin. _________________ 1995 K1100 LT

Well, I'd go with what the BMW manual states.
My BMW manual PDF dated 5/99 spells out 150nm for the left pivot pin and 105nm for the right pivot pin LOCKNUT. Both with the 2701 loctite. _________________ Ride safe.

I'm using a 12/98 PDF version of the BMW manual and am inclined to agree with you. Clymers is so full of mistakes. I caught the emphasis on the right locknut. Knew it, but stated it incorrectly.

I too have been using the Clymer "Book of Lies" for years. Can't trust it.
