Ever since we took a most enjoyable blast up the Horseshoe pass in September, there has been a "buzz" through the footrests. Interestingly it's only in straight & level flight. Any cornering, however slight, the vibes go.
To date I have:-
Replaced the rear tyre.
Checked for any play in hub bearing.
Checked for any roughness in hub bearing (my first worry).
Checked Oil levels & oil cleanliness
Checked for any play in swing arm.
Tried it in Neutral.
Tried it solo.
Checked for broken exhaust studs.
Checked for broken exhaust pipes.
Packed the fat exhaust rubber (a common stud & pipe breaker when worn)
Ensured security of engine & gear box bolts.
No change when braking.
Brakes too are not binding.
Done a search on this Forum.
What next, any ideas / experience please ? _________________ Regards Tim,

Couldn't see anything significant when I removed the footrest plates to check the gearbox bolts.
More research this weekend _________________ Regards Tim,

Something else that I was thinking today, are you noticing any change in the vibration at a specific road speed or RPM range? _________________ Ride safe.

You also said "no change while braking"
What happens if you very lightly touch the front brake lever- just enough to start the pads to contact the rotors? _________________ John & Cathy

Not done any more. Intended to today. Been struck down by "Man Flu". May get out tomorrow.
Most noticeable between 50 & 70 MPH. Don't remember any changes under braking however light. _________________ Regards Tim,

Thank for all the help Gents, made a better job of the item below, this time.
Packed the fat exhaust rubber.
18 21 1 461 922 a £1 ($2) part.
Took off both cups (Max BMW calls them washers) either side of the rubber & glued a ring of inner tube (remember them) to the sloping bit of each cup & reassembled.
Hopefully precluded an exhaust (header) pipe welding job in the future too.
60 more happy miles done today in 5 to 8 Celcius, dry, sunny & no worrying tingles through the footrests. _________________ Regards Tim,
