The K1100RS is gone after 7 years, the riding position was really starting to kill my wrists & I couldn't take the crappy potholed/roadworks roads around here on it any more ... major earthquakes will do that to a city and we're apparently heading towards 10yrs & ~$15 billion US to fix, so no point holding onto hope.
So I've got an R1100GS
- First R
- First non-standard forks (telelever, freaky having forks 100% held togethter by suction)
- still 1996 so same ABS-II, switches, motronic, paralever
- spoked wheels or as my daughter put it, "looks like a real bike"!
I'll still be lurking around (might end up with another CCS100 one day, but going to try an OEM throttle screw first) but even more I'd like to thank you all for your help over the years before I "go dark"... If anyone is ever heading out NZ way then I'd be happy to touch base of course; still riding daily, just not on a K (but what the hell, it was my 4th and after 21yrs I guessed it was time for a change! )
Cheers all

Very different feel- K vs. R
I have my K100RS and last year bough an R1100S.
Each has its own personality.
Good luck with the new ride.
Stay in touch!

Yes, very different bikes. My K1100RS lives alongside an R1200GSA - I use them equally but for different types of riding experience. The GS's are a real hoot to ride whereas the K is what I call an "involved" ride as you do have to concentrate if doing the twisties at speed. _________________ 1980 CB900FA
