May be coincidence, not seen any antipodean postings since the wildfires started.

It's been too bloody hot here in Queensland. Many days og high 30s C and a couple of days low 40s. The glue on the 3m tags that attach my Aeroflow fairing on the K1100RS melted! Derek is probably off somewhere drinking beer to keep hydrated!

We hope all our OZ K11 folks are OK.

Stay cool, stay hydrated people. We are confident that drikko is staying hydrated. Very Happy

Nah, just been busy. The fires are 2,500kms away so no worries from them, and as for drinking beer, been off that for 4 months!!!

I actually took the K11 for a spin this morning before the heat hit, went to the Historic MCC breakfast. I'll post some pics later when I get home back into the air conditioning Smile

We got up to 40.6C here yesterday and it's supposed to be hotter today. Probably the same as your place Pegs. That's 105F for the people living in the past.......

That's cold! Cooled down here a bit this week luckily, only 30C which is pleasant.

Is that Lake Tahoe? If it is, been there a few times Smile

Yes it is Lake Tahoe. A quick drive up for a day out in the hills.

In 1994 we lived on the beach in Rio Del Mar for 6 months over winter, we spent xmas eve at Tahoe and it snowed. Coming from somewhere that the nearest snow is 1,600kms away it was magical.

We used to go shopping at the outlet stores at Gilroy back then which is close to your place. Our office was at Watsonville, home of the artichoke, and we spent a lot of time up in Silicon Valley for work driving there on the notorious Highway 17. Happy dayz, we had a lot of fun!

Please forgive me ( the kogers that r Marines will know that (pt)is physical training and stumps is 29 Palms California. Jushua tree nat. Park.

That sure is freaking hot! I have worked in that sort of heat in central OZ over the years, but I'd rather be outside in it than sweating my butt off in an un-airconditioned office!

But your story reminds of this little gem :-

From heat and fire to rain! In the last 2 days and I'll convert this into ancient measurements for the philistines we've had 21 inches of rain, 14 of which was yesterday, flooding everywhere!

Are you still above water Pegasus? He may not be able to answer as half the houses don't have power as well!

I'm dry, high up on a hill. Locked in on 3 sides by flood waters though. The Bremer River is about a kilometer wide between me and RAAF Amberley and flowing very fast. The One Mile bridge is well and truely under. I can still get out through Karrabin and Blacksoil, but it makes a 20 kilometer trip into Ipswich (instead of 3 kilometers). Haven't lost power this time. Internet keeps on dropping out. I suspect that the phone pits have a lot of water in them. I'm supposed to be helping my son move house tomorrow. It looks doubtful at the moment!
