|

I have found a number of wire bundles that have a thin sheath (for want of a better word) around the bundle. An example would be the leads to the Temp and Fuel gauges, also the cable to the Motronic brain. Mine are brittle and breaking down and coming off.
Does anyone have alternative solution? The only thing I can think of off hand is some of that plastic spiral wrap. It is a lot heavier, but could work.

Self amalgamating tape, sticks like S*** to itself but not to anything else.

Hi Rod - I had the same problem. I looked and looked, but couldn't find anything similar. I also tried to remove the connector plug from the wires so I could slide some tubing over the wires - apparently the connector on the temp and fuel gauge leads is permanently fixed. Good luck! _________________ Jim

I'd either go with the spiral wrap, or some of the split tubing. _________________ Ride safe.

I just did exactly the same job with the split tubing. I put a loop of tape around every 6". To do the Motronic cables I removed the battery and carefully released the wires from the clips under the battery. The size of the split tubing I used fitted back into the same clips. The guage ones were the easiest. Ian _________________ Ian, owner of:-
