Ok, I'll get the ball rolling. I'm sure some others have some better pics.
Loaded up and dressed for rain, the first two hours were in the rain, but didn't see a drop after that.
Lunch on the way up, Bedford's best, according to the billboard.
At a scenic pullout on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. south of Roanoke.
The usual suspects gathering for lies, bullshit and tall tales.
The obligatory stop at the old gas station at Burke's Garden, as seen in Rider magazine....
The view from the old gas station. The mountains form a 360 degree circle all around this volcanic crater valley floor.
Lunch at the recommended Big Daddy's....it was a...local for sure. Sorry I didn't get a pic of my huge roast beef sandwich that I thought was two sandwiches, the other half became my dinner.
A real "flavor of western Virginia" kind of place.....
Taking a break on the "Back of the Dragon", Rte. 16 North out of Marion toward Tazewell, freshly paved!
All the bikes lined up at the Lodge
A little tech session, of which there were many....well, it was pretty much Scott doing about $300 worth of shop labor and the rest of us trying to look like we knew what he was doing.
The grounds...
Next day, I lead a trip out to and up Whitetop Mountain, the second tallest mountain in Virginia at about 5,400ft., nearby Mt. Rogers is the tallest at 5,700.
This is just up above the deciduous tree line and only spruce trees and other evergreens can grow this high. The trees down below were just starting to open their leaves, you can see more green down in the valley.
Audi took us up here three years ago and I was on the K11RS, it was the first longer gravel/dirt road I had been on with the K and it was scary, but rewarding when it was done, I was a lot more confident in loose stuff after that. On the VStrom it was just plain fun this time.
I give Rydor many props for riding his S1000RR(T) up that road! It sure was not what it was designed for. Most of the time we only saw it briefly as it leaned into a corner, and accelerated away, only to be waiting for us way up the road...
The multi mirror mountain shot, with Sean checking out the Highlands.
The view...the winds were blowing about 40 knots up here!
This was on the way up, but it seemed like a good picture to end with, watch out for the unexpected!
Well, those are the better pictures I have, I can't wait to see everyone elses, especially Gwen's (no pressure...) _________________ Steve

More corners in four days than I get to ride all year here at the flat coast. We have some curvy roads, but not the vertical kind. I call it my annual "corner clinic".
I wish I had a GoPro to record the twisties in all their incredible glory and set them to replay non-stop on my desktop background! _________________ Steve

I like that idea too Steve. Maybe we can sweet talk Gwen into that next year for us...... _________________ Ride safe.

OK, I'll contribute my few pics that aren't too repetitive. These are Iphone pics, so the quality is what it is.
The gathering
Gwen's daylight producing machine!
An appropriate photo op! Looks like Steve has on an Imperial Storm Trooper helmet..
Burke's Garden pic. What a beautiful valley!
Pullout on Hwy 16
Gwen and Scott sorting out the electrics on the Blue Streak
View from Whitetop Mt and my first ride on a gravel/ dirt rode with this bike.(repeat after me-stay off the front brake)
Jim's breakfast of champions
The breakfast lineup at the Apple Tree
Just for shits and grins!

I thought Sean deserved this designation for his impersonation of Valentino Rossi!

Here's what I have that also may not be an exact duplicate....
Lunch on the Thursday ride.
Our visit to Burke's Garden.
Some more of our Back of The Dragon day ride.
On this day I went from this:
To this:
We had a visitor to the Lodge, better here than on the road.
Friday I decided to talk a walk around the hiking trail
All packed up ready to head homeward.
Had to get a promo shot.
Back of The Dragon
Thanks to all for a wonderful time. Looking forward to next year already. _________________ Ride safe.

Okay . . . I've got a few to share . . .
What a beautiful scene, eh? Bikes & people beginning to gather for the weekend festivities!
It didn't take long to see how many fingers could fit into that little space!
Gwen says . . . I'LL SHOW YA LIGHTS!!!!
Gotta know what time it is . . . no matter where ya are!
Lunch at Big Daddy's
A shot on the back of the dragon.
During a ride on Route 16 south of Marion (LOTS o' great sweepers!) I stopped to strech my legs and look at the scenery. I had that feeling that I was being watched. I WAS!!!
LT's Galore!
Breakfast time!
Gwen & the "Blue Streak"
Finally, I was (honored?) with "The Salute" at the Saturday evening bonfire. What a fantastic 5 days! Thanks to all for making this newbie feel welcome! _________________ Scot

Does anyone have a picture of Sean's pants sans knee sides from draggin'?

That is a cool site, catering to a bunch of motosport enthusiasts who would enjoy that road.
Although I hate to see the place overrun, their local economy could sure use some infusion of tourist dollars, like ours, so I say bring it on!
I was having delusions of opening a biker related B&B as a way to "retire" up there....beautiful country indeed, but there's no surf.... _________________ Steve
