|
|
Hi all,
I'm looking to install either the Givi E180 or 181 and mount a larger Monokey top case (E460 most likely: 46L size). My Corbin seat has a fold up/down passenger back rest:
Anyone with the Monokey able to advise whether the case is going to interfere with the back rest? I know Givi makes a backrest for these cases, so I'm guessing they are meant to situate pretty close to the passenger.
TIA,

Fit the Givi without the backrest. I have the 22ltr BMW topbox fitted with a backrest and it does slightly foul the Corbin back rest, but it's still useable as is. _________________ There is only now, yesterday is gone and is unchangeable, tomorrow is uncertain. Live in the moment. |

Hello!
The monokey base plate can be moved back and forward on a rack. E180 and 181 differs only with base plate. One is made of nylon another is aluminium cast.
The case can be fitted with the backrest on the foto AFAIK, yet there can be a problem with opening unless the back rest is folding forward.
Givi/Kappa (second is the same product with nicer prices) offers a back rest mounted on the case lid.

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to find Kappa products available in the USA or suitable for my bike, however.

Hello !
Try to search for:
K108
Specific rear rack for MONOKEY® top case
MONOKEY® plate included
I don't remember if I gave a Givi or Kappa rack. The plate is made of nylon. The case is Kappa and it fits the rack prefect.
I have just found:
