I took a road trip without Donna, so I'm posting it here. Donna needed to stay home and get some things done, plus , she said it was too hot!
I followed my sister in her car to Baton Rouge, then went on my merry way for the rest of the trip.
The route: http://goo.gl/maps/3jAvj
Ready to go. Off to Baton Rouge, LA.
On the road - west Texas still my most un-favorite road ever!
My sister Debbie, me, my mom, and sister Eileen and a few frosty beverages.
My old coffee pals and former police officers. Same stories, just more grey hair!
I spent over a week there, helping my mom & sisters with my late fathers estate & clearing out some of his stuff. Also had a fun dinner with some of my old Baton Rouge Police Dept. co-workers. Fresh seafood, boy do I miss that!
Then a visit to my other sister, Susan & her husband Dan, in Ashburn, VA.
Susan played tour guide.
National Air & Space Museum:
Arlington National Cemetery & the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial:
The Pentagon Memorial & the Marine Corps Museum:
Susan did a great job being my chauffeur.
Then, off to Parkersburg, WV. to see my first grandson Anthony.
One more stop in Elkhart IN. to visit more family.
Then a long and construction filled ride back to Las Vegas.
Total miles - 5,711 _________________ Steven B

cooool.
If I had more time I'd have loved to spend more time at Arlington when I was there. Then there's the Smithsonian, and many more places I'd like to knock off of my bucket list....... _________________ Ride safe.
