Hi all,
Nice to receive all comments.
Re the plastic parts etc =Washed them, dried then rubbed with tyre black liquid. The same with the rear panniers and their frame.
As regards the aluminium etc Remember she was sitting in a damp garage for 12 years. This required a lot of cleaning priming painting and ELBOW grease. It was the same with parts of the frame.
The front and rear bars I made from cast off stainless tube and rod from my local scrap merchant. These had been thrown out from the local hospital. The stainless steel is good quality (Marine grade) and once cut welded etc only required polishing .
On the rear bars I removed the original foot pegs and cut and fitted 6mm aluminium type fish plate
Since the front bars were tube type I bought and fitted LED day running lights. One on each side.
I never took any photos of the bars when I was making them ,but if interested I can draw details /sketches of the construction.
Glad you found the photos etc interesting.
