A motorcyclist with a camera fitted to his helmet captures the terrifying scene as two would-be robbers try to steal his bike, only for a passing off-duty policeman to climb out of his car and shoot one of the men.

Maybe that will get the message out that it's not OK to steal bikes... at least for a few minutes.

Wow! He didn't even give the guy any commands, orders, nothing, just steps out of the car and pop, pop, one less street thug on the road.

And at the end, it looked like the guy got his bike back up out of the road and the cop drove off, as if that happens all the time!

That looked like some sketchy third world riding for sure, no offense to our Southern brothers.

The cop is a high condecorate Capitain of the Brazillian Militar Police, but the thieve pointed his gun to him. The Capitain responded properly, IMO.
After this shooting, a very burocratic proccess started with the Capitain, He was retired from the streets job for 6 months, and received psicological and others medical assistence.
And yes, we have a lot of this type of crime here in SP.
See another frustrated try:

I'd seen the first video in a brazilian news website. The overwhelming majority of (if not all) people's comments entirely support the action of the policeman. I think that says a lot about the harsh reality in some urban areas of Brazil.
