So, new here and just getting back to riding after several year. I'll post pictures of the new-to-me bike this weekend. I know all 50 states are different, but in SC you can carry a loaded handgun in the glove box or console. I have a permit and can carry anywhere the state allows, but where on a bike would you put it? Faring pocket under cover?

I don't want to be all "Sons of Anarchy" and carry a 45 in my butt crack, and most of the light jackets won't really support covering.

So, hypothetically if you were going to carry a pistol on your bike, where would you carry?

Tail cowl, of course. Just make sure it's not loaded - you don't want to blow your nuts off...

City case or saddlebag is my preference, though I rarely take it, mainly because it's nearly impossible to arm myself without an audience.
My tail cowl is full tools and spare fuses, bulbs and whatever else might be useful to resurrect a stalled bike.

I'd put it in the tank bag or somewhere where it's easiest/fastest to get to.

JMHO but there's no point in carrying if you can't get to it quickly.

I don't carry though because I can outride most bullets.

YES! Turbo-Duck. Very Happy

But I do agree- If I was to CC, I would want it in my tankbag.

Well, rabid kangaroos, zombies, trolls, alliens, who knows...

Like people who carry huge tool kits, I'd rather have it an not need it, then need it and not have it.

My usual CCW is a Ruger SR9C that rides in my briefcase, and a Glock 22 in the glovebox of the Mercedes. My thought were attach an insides-the-pants holster to the outboard side of the right hand faring pocket and stow the ruger there. As long as it is reasonably weather tight it should be fine and when dismounting could transfer it to a jacket pocket without much notice.

I also though about one of the newer compact 45acp derringers with two shots because they fit well in your jeans back pocket.

Surely someone out there carries? How do you do it?

My normal CCW is a Kahr PM40, fits in jeans pocket and has night sights.

(I used to be a CC instructor, until everyone got involved and am a firm beleiver in on body carry. I don't want to worry about a gun on the bike while I'm off the bike.)

Me at work

You'd need a very large jeans pocket for that! Is that a gun in your pocket...............

Yes, one of the new fixed headspace models. We were testing a new tripod.

I carry my Ruger LC9 IWB at the appendix position. It carries easily there comfortable walking or riding and easy to get to when sitting or standing. If I have a desire to carry a full service sized pistol like my Beretta 92 or 1911 in the bike I believe I'd tend to carry it in the tail compartment because you could carry it there without necessarily locking the seat since most people wouldn't be aware the compartment was even there. Since I have a CCWs that cover about 38 states I can keep a loaded handgun legally either in a vehicle in those states.
I travel with a handgun ever since I was accosted by a bum with a couple of pit bulls one night at a rest stop on I-5. He wanted my wallet and threatened me with his dogs. Luckily I'd just got on the bike and had the engine running when he came up to me. I dug a pretty decent rut in the lawn of the rest stop getting out of there. I decided I didn't want to be in that position again.
I'm a member of the Medford Rifle and Pistol Club and do a bit of competition shooting though these 71 year old eyes aren't as good as they used to be but I can still nail a 50' bull with the LC9 and LCP which isn't as easy as it sounds.
