My new ride. Anyone know what color this is? I need to paint a replacement mirror but don't pickup the bike until September. The bike is currently in Germany.

Looks like 680 to me.

If you can, have somebody look under the seat for a 3-digit color code.

I have the previous owner checking. I believe I have a source for Glasurit, but don't like the price. Recently I have been shooting PPG, my supplier may have a cross reference to the other brands.

Thanks guys

I just had a few panels on my 03 repaired and painted. The body shop convinced me that the paint they use was a better product than the Glasurit (which they have used before and could get). The match was perfect. The paint was just a tad more money than the Glasurit though. Wish I could remember what brand they used.

Any decent painter will have access to paint matched/mixed with a PPG paint matching computer. Incredible, affordable technology that produces perfect results.

I once had some parts (tank and fairing body) painted for a K100RS4V with the graphite metallic paint. My painter guy pointed out to me that if you looked very closely at the paint you could see tiny green and purple flecks in it - something nobody but a painter would ever notice. I gave him an OEM painted side cover to have matched and the paint the PPG computer produced had the exact same tiny green and purple flecks. Even in bright sunlight the OEM painted side cover and repainted tank looked identical where they met.

Just got the paint code from the PO. It's 704.

Now I just have to find a right side mirror. Anyone have one laying around?

What you can't see in the picture above is the right mirror is held together with packing tape. What I was wondering is if a mirror from a 1989 K100RS be a replacement. Looks about right. Here's one on ebay.

Or if any has one laying around and would want to part with it?
