I need to fit a new set of longer than standard HT leads to my K100 turbo.(The coils are now mounted under the seat).
Rather than buy 2 sets of standard leads and connecting them, I'd rather fit NGK spark plug caps.
I think the caps reference number XD05F are the ones I need, but I'm not certain.
I notice that the Endurolast HT lead kit uses an NGK cap but I don't know if it's the same one.
The caps that the Endurolast kit uses for the HT coils are interesting, they look like they are designed to fit a standard spark plug screw-on 'sleeve', is this how the coil 4mm connection is converted for these caps?
Any information gratefully received! |

I'm sure some others will chime in here on this one.....spark plug wire threads seem to be like oil threads lately.......lol......
Anyway, the original factory k100/1100 spark plug lead set has a 5K ohm resistance built into the plug cap and 1K ohm resistance built into the coil cap.
From my 1100 the plug end is a BERU 0 300 372 101 and the coil end is a BERU 0 300 513 121
I don't know anything about the wire as I can't read any info from it. _________________ Ride safe.

Thanks for the reply! I think the 2 parts you mention require a special tool for fitting an adaptor to the HT lead ends which then connects to each of the 2 parts.
I'm looking for parts that I can self-assemble as I can't find anyone locally with the equipment to make one-off leads.
After looking at a few photos of aftermarket alternative K75 and K100 lead sets, it appears that they use an NGK VD05E or VD05F spark plug cap
but it would be good to hear from anyone who's fitted one to confirm there were no problems with it! |
