I'm baaaaack...
Since I moved last fall/winter, the last time I actually rode a bike was in September of 2014. As part of the move, all of my lovely K bikes ended up in storage. (I don't count riding a bike onto a trailer as riding.)
Yesterday I went to my storage units with a freshly charged battery and, as expected, my K75 Frankenbrick fired right up. Being an 86 that had been on the side stand for six months, it put out quite a cloud for the first few minutes. LOL.
Much to my dismay, I guess it didn't like being neglected for so long and decided to go all "Harley" on me - leaving a little puddle of fork oil under the right fork.
Today I geared up and hitchhiked to the storage place ten miles away. Once I had the mirrors on I actually went for a 20 mile ride which fortunately was on rural roads so I could get a few turns. It sure is fun to be riding again. Now I just need to replace the fork seals.
Since I don't want to ride it with leaky fork seals I guess I'll have to get the K11RS going tomorrow and take a ferry ride into Seattle on Tuesday to get some fork seals at Ride West BMW. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Well, I was a bit disappointed that the right fork seal on the K75F was leaking yesterday so I decided to wait until fall when the weather is crappy to fix it. But I still need a bike to ride so this morning I liberated the 94 RS from storage.
Of all of the K bikes I've owned (19) the one thing that has always amazed me about this bike is how easily it starts. Since I have eight Ks, oftentimes one or more of my bikles may sit unridden for a year or more. When I go to hit the starter button I never have any clue if the bike will start or not. Often it takes a bit of choke/throttle cajoling to get them going again.
This bike. Never. It can sit for well over a year and when I tap the starter button it spins up in less than a second like it was running yesterday. (Obviously due to my superior maintenance and tuning skills. LOL.)
In the background is Admiralty Inlet and a faint Mt. Baker in the distancce since my camera is only a point-n-shoot.
Since it had sat so long all of the Ride-On in the front tire had settled at the bottom of the tire so the first few miles were like riding a pogo stick but once it had redistributed itself the front end smoothed out nicely. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

So yesterday I took the 94 RS out for about a 250 mile ride. WTF was I thinking not riding for almost a year? On my first pass I knocked it down into 3rd and whacked the throttle. I'd forgotten what a rush it is to accelerate like that. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Based on your use and the upcoming SS2000 gold, I purchased a couple bottles on Ride-on (along with 2 new Michelin tires- PR3 rear, PR4 front). I always use a Parnes balancer on new tires, this time balancing the wheels/tires before using the Ride-on.
Took a longer ride on Saturday and while this may be the power of suggestion, the bike felt smoother riding down the road.
Thanks for the hint. _________________ John & Cathy

Ride-On is good stuff - until you change a tire - then it's all gone...
On my trip to San Diego and Sierra Nevadas, I ended up changing both trailer tires and both bike tires. They all had new Ride-On in them... It was good while it lasted. _________________ Jim
