From a K1600 owners site. (k1600 forum.com) Not sure if it's true.

RDL also said they may have a winter website sale" _________________ 1993 BMW K1100lt |

Hopefully Russel can work with you on seat height.
I tried a RDL on the K - it only made things worse - I sold it. I'm 5'9" - ended up with a pretty nice Sargent that had already been cut down. Been using it for years with no problems. _________________ Jim

Hey Jim,
You are close to my height. Can you tell me why the RDL was worse?
I am looking at a couple now from IBMWR so this is timely.
Thanks

Don - the RDL seat height was much higher than the Sargent I ended up using. The seat was also wider than the Sargent - that probably added to the problem. That was why I mentioned working with RDL on the seat height if you were going to buy a new one.
I guess it's worth trying one. You can always resell it. _________________ Jim

I've decided to keep the Corbin for this upcoming season. If it works out, fine. If not, I will get a new RDL next winter as I think I could get used to sliding forward on it when coming to a stop. I like the idea of extra height to save my knees and be more comfortable on long trips. _________________ 1996 K1100 LT SE, Aspen Silver 148,xxx mi. |
