Gidday,
Last night I set about and painted the pannier lids on my K1100LT, have always fancied the colour coded look.
So I called by the local auto paint suppliers with the topbox in hand and the colour number from under the seat, and after a little searching on their computer "Pine Green" was settled on being the correct BMW colour match.
2 x $28.00 per aerosol cans were mixed in two pac paint on the spot in 10 minutes plus 1 x etched primer and 1 x clear coat and I was back out the door quickly.
A good wipe down and then I taped up the badges and protective rubbers etc and it was good to go, they came up fantastic!!

They do look good. Well done.
I have a K75s as well as my 1100 and that is long overdue for a cosmetic re-spray and was going to do it this coming spring and had also thought of spraying the panniers at the same time.
I was unsure how well they would turn out so had held back for the time being. You have just decided for me that it is more than possible. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

Looks great.
The previous owner of my K-RS had the lids sprayed with black pickup bed coating. Since I have owned it the bike has been on its side twice- one was my fault, the other when some old guy fell over while parking his HD land yacht.
No scratches from either event. Broke the hinges but no visible damage to the lids. _________________ John & Cathy
