Hi all kog ers"
Hey it's been quite a while since I put brakes on the rear of my k11 LT and am not sure of the compound, ie HH, sintered bronze or what ever?
I am not an aggressive rider and most always ride by myself. _________________ 1995 k1100lt daily ride(22953)when I got it

I'd look for something that is "organic compound" similar to the oem. Something with a kevlar mix is ok.
It will still give you decent stopping power without the effect of eating up your rotors....
Sintered has metal flake in them, yes they do stop better, but they will chew up your rotors sooner. _________________ Ride safe.

I have always used the EBC organic compound for the reason that Scott stated.
I think FA18 on rear and FA171 on front.
You can usually find really good prices on Ebay. _________________ 97 K1100LT

This is what I bought last time.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-1999-BMW-K1100LT-Kevlar-Carbon-Front-Rear-Brake-Pads-/161709597096?hash=item25a6a4a1a8
$14 for the complete set front/rear.
One thing that you may find, I know that I have, the non-bmw front pads seem to have an issue with the backing plate.
The last 2 sets of front pads that I have installed I have had to use my dremmel tool on the inside edge of the "horn ears"(ie where the pins slip thru).
Something about when the backing steel plate was punched out, it is just a tad out of speck from factory mfgr.
For the price, I can afford to massage the fit.....
Just fyi for you so you know about it going in. _________________ Ride safe.

IMO, there really is no need for anything more than organic pads. You can easily lock (or ABS engage) normal pads on a K11 and don't need the bite of sintered pads nor to eat up your rotors more quickly.
I've had great results using EBC pads front and rear. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
