Our fellow K11OGer, Rydor, had a run in with a golf cart Tuesday. Although his injuries are serious, they are not life threatening. Fortunately, he was on the Yamaha at the time - not the BMW.
I still don't know what the golf cart was doing crossing the road...
Will keep you posted as I get more info. _________________ Jim

In developments/gated communities built around golf courses it is fairly common to have cart paths that cross roadways. And usually the golf carts have right of way.
There are also places where you can get a golf cart plated to use on the street for running errands. I think regular right of way rules apply in that scenario.
I hope he's doing OK. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Outside the town - no gated community, no golf course - near a state park.
Golf cart guy was charged with failing to yield - sustained minor injuries - refused treatment.
Our guy didn't fare as well. Five broken ribs and a collapsed lung (I hope they inflated it for him...) _________________ Jim

Is it too soon to point out I'll be cooking RIBS at HMX?
Seriously, glad you are home and up and about. There is no easy way to get around with banged up ribs. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

Good to hear that you are home Sean.
(Damn! Another reason why I don't like golf. 😬)
Seriously, glad you are on the mend.
On edit: hey Rydor you know the old saying, pictures or it didn't happen 😳 _________________ John & Cathy

Not sure it had anything to do with golf... I didn't see a golf course on the map, but there is (or was) an orchard there - the road near the mishap bears the name of the driver of the golf cart - and the side road also bears golf cart guy's name preceding the word Orchard.
More likely some old farmer who figures he owns the road and has the right of way... He did get knocked off the golf cart, I believe... _________________ Jim

This is the only picture I have from that day... landing in St. Louis with a thumbs up!!! I'm still busted up but back to work. Still not healthy enough to ride yet... In the end I'm glad it was the Yamaha Tenere and not the bumblebee!

Now I see what I missed! (glad I didn't have to use it)
Hope your recovery is going well Sean. We will need details at HMX. _________________ John & Cathy
