Hello Jim,
It was a lot of work that's right. But when you doing big maintenance on your motorcycle and you have during the maintenance electrical defects then you need a good wiring diagram from the motormanagement to find the faults in the system. I like to help other people with the work i have done, i also hope that other people could help me with their motor experience on other issue's.
When other people see issue's on my drawings that are not correct then tell me !. then i can correct the faults
The text on the drawings is in Dutch, when i found some more free time i shall make drawings with the text in english.
On the internet are a lot of diagrams but not exactly the right one ! that is the reason that i make a new diagram from the motormanagement system and all the wiring that are on the connector from the Motronic computer. A good wiring diagram will help you when you have problems with the elctrical system. The wiring, colors and all the connections i have drawn is how i have seen it on my motorbike K1100 special edition from 1994. I think the K1100LT bike are mostly the same and i think that the older K100 motorcycles on a lot of points are also the same. you could have other colors of the wiring as example.

If you would like to double check your work, I have the BMW schematics that they released on their SLP software disks.
I could send you the images if you wanted to compare, or if you need a diagram for a different BMW bike from 1974 to 2008 I should also have them.
You're right about variations, there's the EURO market and the USA/NA market, then each bike series can be a bit different. LT different than the RS for example, bikes with or without ABS, etc.... and changes between years. The 93 1100LT is slightly different than the 94-97 1100LT's, mostly the same but they are not identical...
