After searching for almost two weeks for a suitable solution to mount my Galaxy A7 without having to cut, hack or make holes into anything, I finally figured out that a product I already had on my Honda scooter would do the trick. And since I am selling the scooter anyway, off it came. Smile

The solution for me is a Motowolf cellphone holder as shown here: https://www.amazon.com/GULYU-MOTOWOLF-Motorcycle-Rotating-Bicycle/dp/B07V86N5PR/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=motowolf&qid=1563118544&s=gateway&sr=8-9

But in fact I think other solutions designed to mount on side view mirrors with exposed bolts will do the trick as well. After a LOT of looking around (and frankly, my experience as a military and civilian line avionics/electrical tech helped with the search Very Happy ) I found that the handlebar cover is secured to the center of the handlebar section with two non-load-bearing bolts.

I took out the screw and then used a longer screw to mount the base of the Motowolf mount. Then I secured the phone holder high enough that it will not touch the tank (though I may put a transparent plastic sheet on it to protect it.) The mount does cover the windshield and heated handgrip switches but I always drive with the windshield up, and if I want heating I'll just turn it on before slipping the phone into the mount. Done! Wink
