One of the hinges on my OEM top box has broken away from the lid - cracked around the mounting so unrepairable. I have a spare older top box that’s in one piece but rather beat up but in one piece so can I swap the lock from one box to the other as I’ve no longer got the key for the old box. If so is there a guide? _________________ 1994 K1100LT |

So why not just swap the lid. _________________ Ride safe.

That's the easy option but I've never been very happy with the lock on the current box, the handle 'pulls' up a bit even when locked and whilst I doubt it would be possible to force the locking mechanism I kind of think it might invite someone to try if they gave it a tug. On the old box the handle didn't move at all once locked and I'm damned if I can figure out how to transfer the complete mechanism across. _________________ 1994 K1100LT |

Brilliant, just what I needed, have you ever removed the rest of the locking system as it seems to be impossible to dismantle,
thanks

I've never messed with the 35L beyond lid swaps and the lock core. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
