we were buzzing around lotts o twisties last week and the brick wasnt wanting to turn in...

i often practice counter steering because thats about all that will save you from a head on in the twisties when you find jose and maria in their drifter 5 feet over the the double yellow in a blind corner...

i looked at the tires and all and couldnt figure it out... it felt kinda notchy... then i discovered this piece that is located under the headlight to be loose... the fork tube was hitting it... requiring a harder push to move it and lay the bike over... both lefts and rights...

this thing had a profound negative affect on the steering... instead of f ing with it i just took it off... then all was well again...

just sharing...

That piece might help keep water off the wiring in the front fairing. You might want to replace it when you can scrounge up the screws to remount it properly.

I've never had a problem with that at all.

Seems odd to me. I think I would have looked at tire pressure first.

As a matter of fact Saturday evening I did this. What amazing to me is it was my first time since raising the suspention and triple clamp. It has NEVER tracked in the turns better.

Before I was fighting it and didn't even know it.

I would liked to have seen what it looked like before you removed it, maybe it was binding on something?

Had you recently done any work on the front?

Johnny, I took that piece off when I installed the RBR lightbar on my RS. The shop said I wouldn't miss it, and almost 3 years after, no problems.
