|

I have always had fogging problems on cold mornings or rainy days. I thought about trying a Fog City shield but couldn't get around sticking an extra layer onto a $50 face shield. I decided to try the Respro Foggy mask. If you're not familiar with it, it's a neoprene half mask that velcros to the chin bar of your full face helmet. It seals the upper part of your face and your shield from your breath. It works great. I can keep my shield closed and latched at stop lights with no fogging what so ever. Because it seals the upper half of your face, it keeps your face much warmer too. It has lowered my comfort threshold by 10 degrees. The drawbacks are that it makes the helmet more difficult to put on and take off. Also, since it velcros to the chin bar and the cheek pads, it won't work with flip open helmets. Overall I am thrilled! Well worth the $16 it cost delivered from the Team ProMotion parts club. Fog free at last!!!!!

I used one for several years in a Shoei and it was fantastic although, as you say it does make putting on and taking off a little more difficult.
I've got a flip front now, Caberg Justissimo, which may not take one but appears to be less prone to fogging anyway.

Thanks Paul. I just ordered one from Street and Competition, a U.S. Respro distributor.
$18.95 delivered.

I wear glasses, and although they are coated with anti-fog coating they seem to fog up worse than the vizor.
Has anyone tried the Respro Foggy mask while wearing glasses?

Yes, I am a glasses wearer. The foggy is fine with glasses. _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29 |

Yep, I too wear glasses and used one with no real problem. I did find that the mask pushed the glasses up a bit but its just a matter of adjusting the mask's position.

| A very thin coating of glycerine on your sheid will preent fogging. My father used to use it on the windshield of the B-24 bomber he flew in the South Pacific and I have had great results too. |

Try a mix of washing up liquid & water, wash your glasses, visor, etc then allow to dry naturally, WITHOUT WIPING. works for me. Even done it using washroom soap on a long journey. damn sight cheaper too! _________________ Regards Tim,
