Can you throw on a real tank and swap the pipe?
What are we talking?
(Saw a stock 08 KLR on a dealer floor for 4300, but I want the Honda) _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

If my K1100LT ever dies, a K1200GT probably, but I expect the K11 to live a long time.
I was really against the F800GS at first (tall, still kinda heavy, 2x4 seat), but the more I learn about it and after seeing several videos of it in action, it may well force me to find a way to fit it in the garage next to the K11 and the Road King. _________________ M N B

Hopefully, years from now, when it's time for another bike, Allen Nelson's RS will be for sale again! |

Does yours have a K12 engine and wheels and stainless fasteners throughout? _________________ tlp

Aaaaaa....yeah sure its just the same except it has the 1100 engine, its blue, has a few scratches, some old bolts...yeah its the same
But it doesn't have the speeding ticket Allen got when I was riding with him ...I got lucky that day. _________________ Mike Gullery

Well never mind that bike then... last thing I need is a bike that's predisposed to getting tickets! I've had enough of those as it is! |

Agreed, red screams out to be ticketed. I'm convinced the my fugly Pine Green LT has saved me a few tickets. I think the cops feel sorry for me. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I'm keeping the "K" and getting a URAL Gear UP!!
OMIGAWD!
I want to paint it gun metal gray, put on a German Cross on teh front of it, and a KING shepherd in the passenger seat.
Gee, that may not be politically correct. How about just leaving it camo and tell everyone my name is Comrade Ivan??
My idea is to get something totally retro (yup.....the Airhead lovefest is lurking) and ride to Alaska again. I want to take my time and camp out in the wilderness. The King Shepherd will bark (my alarm clock) and if necessary, he will be the bait whilst I make my getaway!

I'd love to get a Ural with a sidecar, like the Gear up or Tourist. Those look like a lot of fun and it would be an acceptable way to take the kids out for a ride. They're a little too small to sit on the back for awhile (or forever as their Mom says).
This would of course be in addition to my K. _________________ Steve
