My `93 K1100 will only start in neutral. Is there a diode somewhere that may be blown, or a bad switch that would allow it to start with the clutch in? I can't believe the Germans would expect someone to fumble around in traffic with the shifter to start this bike if it stalled.
Is there an online source to download the schematic? The Clymer is on the way. _________________ Current Bikes

There is a clutch switch operated by the lever which allows you to start the bike in gear. It's difficult to get the old one out - I ended up cutting it out and screwing the new one in hand tight only. It's a simple switch - just a plunger type and can corrode. _________________ 1980 CB900FA

Thanks. I'll try to squirt some penetrating oil up there with the lever out/off. _________________ Current Bikes

Or you could just disable it and pull the clutch in every time you start the bike. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT
