Well I'm back at work so the vacation must be over.

So I picked up my bike in LA and rode to Las Vegas where I met my buddy who picked up his bike from Phoenix and would accompany me on our ride home to Vancouver, BC.

Our route took us from Las Vegas, thru Death Valley, Yosemite, Mono Lake, Reno, Crater Lake, across Washington State and the border to home.

3500 kms (2160 miles) in ten days.

Along the way we hit hot temps in Death Valley (45C, 120F), freezing cold and snow, icy roads, and heavy winds and rain. In short, another adventure!

Let's take a look shall we...

Welcome to Los Angeles

Watch out for dinosaurs

Mann's Theater, Hollywood

I get my kicks on...

Mojave Desert, California

Mojave Desert, California

100mph

Meeting my friend in Searchlight, Nevada

Leaving Las Vegas

Stay tuned for Part 2 - Death Valley

Did anyone ever tell you you look like Barney? Razz

Sounds like a good shakedown trip for the K. Nice pics.

I hit a part of the RT 66 on my trip to N.M. earlier this year. I hope to ride the whole route sometime. I think that would make for a great nostalgic trip.

Keep those pics coming.

Ride safe

Scott

The thing on the back of the bike is a backrest for my buddy's Goldwing.

He was so loaded down with stuff that I had to carry some of it. Aside from looking kind of weird on there it never got in the way.

I rarely use my topcase anymore because after I fill the hard cases and the front fairing pockets (I took the radio out a long time ago) I'm good to go.

Sometimes I'll put the dry sack on the back with the tent, sleeping bag and pad, but this trip was all in hotels and homestays.
