Let us not forget those who paid the ultimate price all for our freedoms.
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us the freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
It's the least that we can do to say THANK YOU, and support the VETERANS and the TROOPS in harms way. We don't have to agree with why they are there, only to support them no matter where they are.

neither does this hoosier...
On 22 April 1942, the 32nd Division sailed from San Francisco, bound for the war in the South Pacific. They arrived in Port Adelaide, South Australia on 14 May 1942.
On 15 September 1942 the first elements of the Division were flown from Australia to Port Moresby, New Guinea.
The 32nd Division was the first U.S. Division to fight an offensive action against the Japanese in the Southwest Pacific.
The Division fought in six major engagements in four Campaigns involving 654 days of combat, more than any other American Division.
On 2 September 1945 General Tomoyuki Yamashita, Highest Commander of the Imperial Japanese Army in the Philippines, surrendered to the 32nd Infantry Division on Luzon.
my dad would never talk about it... but his brothers and sisters said he was never the same... r i p pops... i will never forget...

When I was riding back from CA in January and getting my ass kicked by the cold, wind and rain, I stopped into a KFC where I had my wet soggy shit all over the table and ducked into the restroom to change into a dry set of clothes. A guy in his 80s came over and told me what if was like when he fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Like there was ANY f***ing comparison.
And remember that our guys now in Iraq and Afghanistan are tomorrow's veterans. May God bless them and their families.
I shot this pic at the National Cemetary in Gettysburg as the sun was setting right before Memorial Day in 2004:
I also stopped here to pay my respects:
