i should have taken a before and after photo... i unloaded the bug eye brick after being on the back of the truck for 3 weeks... thats right... we have not been on a ride for 3 weeks...
anyway... the bug eye brick was covered with dead bug gooo... street gooo... dirt of many varieties and sand from the enormous winds we have been having here in the central valley of california...
so i see this motobike shop down the road and go over there to see if they have any of this s100 stuff i have heard so much about... i score the liquid total cycle cleaner and off to the 1/4 car wash...
ii spray i down with water the spray it down with s100... i let it soak for 10 minutes then rinse... the plan was to put another coat of s100 on it and used their special sponge to wipe it down...
when i got the second coat of s100 on it... the car wash filled up with folks waiting in line... so i decided to spray it off and take a look...
amazing... it is totally clean with no sponge action... just spray and rinse...i sprayed everywhere but the bagster and the squatch snatch... its looking good... well as good as can be...
i am johnny owrstrich and i approve of this product...

Hey, Johnny:
S100 is good stuff BUT I read somewhere a few years back that there are some places it shouldn't be used on BMWs. Can't remember the details but you mgiht want to poke around on the Internet and see what you can dig up. Then again, it could be just nitpicking by some hypertechincal types - the kind who send their oil in to get analyzed after every oil change. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

S100 is great stuff, it's exactly the same as HondaBrite. However as Duck was remembering, it will stain Lexan. _________________ Dom |

My personal experience with this product led me to discover that it
would flatten the black paint used on the R bike motor. Valve covers,
starter cover & the like. Not a big deal to me, it just made my CS
look more stealthy like. Very unHarley... _________________ Kent

The Clymer manual has a disclaimer about S100.
The issue is long term use and corrosion. The active agents will cause aluminium to corrode. The danger is, as it works into the unprotected housings or unfinished aluminium, generally areas you cant really rinse off well. The '96 SE I picked up in April had tell tell evidence of this product being used as there was significant surface corrosion behind the radiator. There was also paint fading on the wheels.
INMO: I would stay away from it. |

owrstrich, be careful at those manual car washes. If you're not, the pressure can force water into places it doesn't belong like wheel bearings gauges, etc.
I like S100, but I've found that if you don't use lots of rinse water, it will leave a dull film. This might also contribute to the corrosion problem mentioned above.
Here's a secret....Honda Brite is the same product as S100 and it's priced less. Read the fine print on the Honda Brite bottle and you'll see S100 mentioned. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

Amen, preach it brother! (And get R E S P E C T )
No, seriously-I had to have my brick towed home after the starter clutch wouldn't engage and when AAA pulled up with the their flatbed and saw the bike the driver called for a special motorcycle trailer. He said he has never seen such a clean bike, he was genuinely nervous handling it. ( I can only imagine how he felt, it must have been realy scary putting the K on the center stand)
He was very careful and my dad stood by taking pictures of every move he made, every strap he tightened and every roll of the wheels.
I was not there, I was in Fresno filing a motion for emergency custody of my kids (Their step father threatened my son with a 32oz Louisville Slugger the other night, but that's another story) My wife said she thought I was a bit looney for keeping my bike so clean, but after seeing how it impressed the AAA guys and made them so careful, she has been converted...sorry Johnny (NOT) _________________ Larry

I've seen pictures of Larrys bike and you are correct.
I might even say it's the cleanest on this site. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

my all time favorite is to sever the achilles tendon... both legs... just above the heel... in that sweet spot on the back side of the ankle...
but that of course is only for those who need to be seen squirming while they bleed out...
