Long rides aren't only about riding roads and seeing new places - it's also about meeting people and making new friends.
Part 2 sees us saying goodbye to some friends we made in Las Vegas before heading off into the scorching heat of Death Valley
Hanging with Lolita and Lina from Lithuania
Emily at Planet Hollywood
On the way to Death Valley
The sign says it all
Made it. Damn it's hot!
The view from Dante's Peak
On the way to Badwater
Going below sea level. The ground goes down but the heat goes up
It was 52C (126F) at this point today
Going faster only makes it hotter
Gas was a bit pricey
Nothing but distance
The end of a great day of riding
Mexican breakfast the next morning. Yes I ate it all
Mammoth Lakes ski area. Now we're getting some elevation
Snow!? Yesterday I was melting hot, today I'm wearing everything I have!
Snowball fight!
Tioga Pass Road (Hwy 120) thru Yosemite. Highly recommended
Motorhome on Tioga Pass Road
-283 feet yesterday, almost 10,000 feet today. East entrance to Yosemite
Yosemite and freezing cold. We were both worried about ice on the road
Back below the snow line
Goodbye daytime
Stay tuned for part 3 in which our intrepid explorers laugh in the face of adversity _________________ Four wheels move the body - two wheels moves the soul |
