I may have over filled the gearbox slightly but I seem to have a leak at back of the box where the clutch actuator is , I did order a seal for the clutch pushrod which is a small lipped oil seal , can you fit this from the outside ? do you take the pushrod out completely and hook it out of the shaft ? previously i had parked on a steep slope facing up and found oil was fairly running out but on the flat their is no problem has anyone changed this before ? its hard to see from the parts fiches how it goes in ?
Regards to all

It's an easy part to change, but you need to take the exhaust off. Undo the jubilee clip holding the split boot on, disconnect the clutch cable at the actuator arm, and pull it off, taking care to keep hold of the spring, and not have it all poing out on you
The other possibility is that the adjuster bolt might have fallen out, but you'd probably have noticed that by now. Easy job, don't sweat it. _________________ 1992 K1100RS - Red and gold. |

The purpose of the pushrod seal is not to keep gear oil in the transmission - it's purpose is to keep the oil in the boot (which should be there) from travelling up the pushrod and contamintating the clutch.
You probably need to replace the boot and/or make sure your clutch is properly adjusted. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks Mr. Duck
it looked like a weird way to have a seal , I had the lever adjusted wrong and I had split the new boot so I will get on to Motorworks and order another new one
Regards
