I replaced my Stock Exhaust on my 93RS is a Staintune exhaust, and now I get an occasional sneeze and more rare occasional backfire pop Shocked on deceleration. It seems mostly to happen when engine is on the colder side. Is there an adjustment I can make to fix this?

Do nothing, that's normal.

Kipp - you can check the TPS. I don't know how much different it is on the K11's and K75's - backfiring was a common problem on the 75's - adjusting the TPS slightly off from spec would fix it. I have a Remus - it pops some, but doesn't out and out backfire like the 75 did - it backfired like a truck!

On 2 valve Ks it's a switch. On four valves it's a potentiometer.

And a K75 will still backfire under the right circumstances even with the TPS adjusted properly.

That's what I said - the 75 would backfire like a big truck unless the TPS was set slightly off spec.

Which way? I've never heard that one.

After a few backfires I just intuituively taught myself not to engine brake in a manner that would cause the backfire. (If I'd been OTG, I would've been doing it on purpose all of the time. To compensate you know.)

the poping and back fireing is a engine running LEAN. makes sense as the new pipe is freeer flowing.

you could adjust the TPS very slightly to richen it up.....I have not tried it but in theory could work.....

btw...the 2V motor has a mass air flow so you can adjust the CO to richen the mixture.

Thanks for the input, I am going to take it for a long week end of riding and then see if it is worth messing with. I don't quite get why popping would be from lean...I would think it would be from rich unburnt fuel igniting in the freer muffler...anyway I am a bit nervous about messing with the TPS...
